I
am Sophie from Surrey near London and yes, that's me in the photo. I
decided to do this site for a laugh for rock music fans in 2002, to
replace my old printed fanzine "Overstuffed Guest List",
which cost too much to get printed after having done 7 issues. It's
become popular, but I don't design it myself, because I travel a lot
and we still don't have internet at the family home! Therefore, there
are only updates every so often when I have time. I want to keep this
site simple and to the point, fun and colourful, nothing too
professional and boring. Since I went to art school I've made
jewellery and designed and customised clothing, so I started my own
business and sell to shops and for market stalls at music festivals.
I mainly design punk style clothing, but also make pretty jewellery
pieces and hair accessories using Swarovski crystal gems, polymer
clay, metals and found objects. These designs and handbags are sold
to privately owned boutiques. As well as the fashion and craft work,
I do freelance journalism, taking live photos of bands at various
events and writing occasional reviews. I've done voiceover work for
commercials in LA and in England. I organise club nights for fans
after big concerts. A Marilyn Manson party for after a show in
Manchester was filmed by Granada TV show "Taxi Nights" in
2003. One of these days I want to write a book (or maybe more...) on
my experiences with bands and music and the art. It's only rock 'n'
roll, but I like it!
