Motley Crue! Live at Sydney Superdome, 3rd December 2005

Holy Fire and Smoke! It's Motley Crue! Live at Sydney Superdome, December 3rd, 2005.

Rock 'n' roll's king bad boys returned to the live circuit with the ultimate crazy circus of a live show at Sydney Superdome! They were the No.1 hellraisers of the 1980s 'hair metal' scene. Having been through drug addiction, personal tragedies and a long break-up, Motley Crue are BACK on top form! Despite three members now in their late 40s and guitarist Mick Mars nearly 55, this band shows no cracks in their performance. The Motley Crue circus rolled into town for the Sydney Superdome, the first date of the 2005 Australian tour. To launch the show there was a short comedy animation film of the band on big screens and we were entertained by a midget in a clown costume. The curtains opened up to a backdrop that resembled a circus bigtop and the band began with Shout at the Devil. The set list was full of the old favourties and went like this: Shout at the Devil, Too Fast For Love, Ten Seconds To Love, Looks That Kill, Dr. Feelgood, On With the Show, Louder Than Hell, Live Wire,(after intermission) Girls, Girls, Girls, Wild Side, Don't Go Away Mad, Primal  Scream, Without You, Home Sweet Home, Sick Love Song, Kickstart My Heart, Anarchy. Entertaining as it was, the performance consisted of flame and smoke fountains, plenty of swear words (which was expected!), stripper dancers, a midget and Vince and Nikki riding onto the stage on motorbikes for Girls, Girls, Girls. There was a random intermission before they did Girls, Girls, Girls, which seemed pointless. Why didn't they get Mighty Mike the midget to entertain us during that time? The dancers wore PVC nurses outfits for Dr Feelgood and there were lots of great colorful lighting effects. The only mistake they made was Tommy Lee going on too long with the "titty cam", which was a camera going around the audience picking out various girls to flash their boobs so we could all see on the screens. Not everyone the spotlight shined on was prepared to bare their chests, so this went on longer than it should have. Still, Motley Crue are born entertainers and PROPER rockstars. There will never be any other characters like Motley Crue again. Totally unmissable.
